Baby Trend Pack and Play
The Baby Trend Pack and Play is two very useful baby items, packed into one! This pack and play doubles as a bassinet and co-sleeper. The bassinet also comes off for easy access to a changing station. There is also much storage to hold the necessities for your little ones! This pack and play is great because it adjusts as they grow, and you will get much use out of it for a long time. It is easy to fold up and carry along. The Baby Trend should definitely be a must on your twin registry list!
Snap and Go Double Stroller
The double stroller is definitely a twin must have and should be one of the first items you list as essential on your baby registry. If this is the only thing you get, it is well worth it. I swear by this stroller. I used it up until my twins were almost one. I had the single snap and go for my first singleton and used it until he couldn’t fit in the car seat anymore. What is so fantastic about the snap and go double stroller, is that is can be used with any infant car seat. It is super light and easy to fold up and fit in any car trunk. It takes up barely any space, so I always preferred this to my regular double stroller while they were still in car seats. There is plenty of room for storage on the bottom for your diaper bag and whatever else you are bringing. This stroller is a must for your baby registry!
Twin Z nursing pillow
The Twin Z pillow was by far, the best gift I ever received. If you are breastfeeding, it makes feeding 2 at once so much easier. Just sit in the middle with the middle up behind your back, and one baby on each side. The twin z pillow grows with your babies and can be used for acid reflux, tummy time, sitting up and breastfeeding. Once they started crawling it became a toy, they loved to climb up and over (great muscle building activities). It can also be used for napping and just hanging out with mommy! The Twin Z pillow was probably my most used baby product for twins. It is definitely a twin must have and should be on your baby registry.
Baby self feeding bottle
This baby self feeding bottle holder saved me a lot of anxiety over feeding BOTH babies at the same time. It was a time saver and my feedings became hands free AND stress free. I do not recommend using these in a car seat, as the babies are still very small and should be supervised while eating. However, holding 2 bottles at the same time, or even feeding one and the other baby needing you, almost brought me to tears. Without this magnificent feeding pillow, I wouldn’t of made it during feeding time without having a complete breakdown. Definitely a must for your twin baby registry (you will need 2).
Baby bouncer and seat
Although this bouncer only comes in a pack of one, I definitely recommend getting two. This chair is perfect for napping, hanging out, and playing. It plays music and soothes your baby by slightly bouncing up and down (and it vibrates too!) My twins used to spend a lot of time in these chairs as they are easy to move and keeps them entertained for a while. I brought them everywhere- my parents, friends houses, even on vacation! It also really helped during bath time. I would give one a bath, while the other sat in the bouncer. Then I would switch them out. It makes being by yourself with twins so small managable. Definitely add two of these to your registry!
What NOT to buy
There are a lot of products out there, but when it comes to buying items for your twins, there are some things that are just a waste of money and you should not put on any sort of checklist. And trust me with 2 babies, you’re going to want to save money in as many places as possible. Here are a few things NOT to register for when having twins. The items listed I have used them, but they really are not necessary, especially when you have two! If I would of know before having twins, I would have never purchased them.
Diaper Genie
When I had my first son, I thought this was the best thing because the garbage was right next to my changing table. It was an easy place to put the dirty diapers, and there were just so many of them. However, when having my twins this became too big and bulky to have around since there were so many other items (and 2 of them)! Also, it is expensive to keep buying the bags that go in the pail. The pail fills up quickly, leaving you to change it 2 or 3 times a day. A much cheaper option is to just get arm and hammer diaper bags and throw them in the regular garbage pail.
Bottle Warmer
This is, by far, the most ridiculous baby item. I had gotten one from my baby shower and never, not once, did I use it. In reality you only need it to maybe sterilize the bottles when they are super little. However, this huge sterilizer is not necessary when you can buy sterilizer bags. After those are used up, a soapy bucket will do, or a rinse cycle in the good old dish washer. Bringing twins home can be scary- but having the right baby gear will make it a little less stressful. Wipe Warmer
Wipe warmers sound good in theory but you really don’t need them. Putting a warm wipe to your babies bottom sounds nice and cozy, BUT wipe warmers dry out the wipes. A better alternative is to put warm water and a soft cloth. You should definitely keep a wipe warmer off your registry!
Changing Table
A changing table is great if you have the room for it, BUT with twins you definitely do not want to put 2 of these on your checklist. Although it has storage in it, I always found it was never in the right place when one of them needed a diaper change. Do you really want to carry your babies up and down stairs to the room that the changing table is in? Not very convenient at all. However, there is a better alternative to this. I found that a changing pad was more relevant to the needs of having twins. Plus you are able to buy one for each floor or room of your home. You can place them anywhere that you want to change your little one, it is much more convenient when there is another little one close by.
Conclusion
There are many baby items out there. As a mommy you want to make sure you get the best and most essential items your twin babies will need. What was once a great item for one baby, may not be as relevant for twins. Make sure you use this best items for twins checklist to ensure your registry has everything you will need for your baby registry.
